High-Tech brain interfaces allow sheer thoughts to control machines and communicate with people

A new TechCast study shows that implanted electrodes and skull caps can sense brain waves accurately, allowing people to control machines and other people at a distance wirelessly. Various bold experiments are being conducted that convincingly demonstrate people can use these systems to direct their thoughts and actions through brain signals. These are primitive systems as yet, but they represent a beachhead in the growing area of brain-computer interfaces that is now being explored seriously. As the nervous system is better understood and the technology improves, humans should extend the power of sheer thought to all manner of devices, gain mastery over their bodies, and even communicate with each other silently at great distances. The great physicist Freeman Dyson called it “Radiopathy.” TechCast estimates Thought Power will become mainstream abnout 2020.
